ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Obiora N. Anekwe is a writer, visual artist, bioethicist, and teacher. To date, he has authored and coauthored seventeen books. In addition, Dr. Anekwe has published numerous peer-reviewed and nonpeer-reviewed articles, commentaries, and opinion editorials. He has presented his research in the fields of bioethics and education both nationally and internationally. His artwork based on the Tuskegee Syphilis Study has been featured on the cover of medical journals such as Academic Medicine and on the website of the Hastings Center. He exhibited his photographs, collages, and mixed media artwork about the Willowbrook State School at the College of Staten Island’s Gallery in 2017.
Dr. Anekwe is a tenured public school special education teacher who resides in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife, Rev. Alexis S. Anekwe, and their son, Amari O. Anekwe.
